A WINTER WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

DATE: FEBRUARY 12, 2022 (SATURDAY) 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M.

LOCATION: BROOK FARM HISTORIC SITE- 670 BAKER ST., WEST ROXBURY

AUDIENCE: ALL AGES

New Brook Farm joins Mass Audubon Teacher/Naturalist Adam Leiterman for a “A Winter Walk on the Wild Side” at this 180-acre reservation managed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR).

You will learn about the history of the famous Brook Farm utopian community as we search for evidence of the animals that call this site their home. It may be the middle of winter, but there are plenty of signs of life, including tracks, scat, and chews.
The trails are wide and flat, and we will cover approximately 3 miles on foot.

Please wear suitable winter clothing and boots.
Depending on the depth of the snow cover, you may want to bring snowshoes or cross-country skis. In case of inclement weather, we will schedule a make-up date.

Please meet in the parking lot at the entrance to the Gethsemane Cemetery, 670 Baker Street, West Roxbury, located on the Newton/West Roxbury border.
